Professional Certificate

Professional Certificate in Public Relations and Mass Communication



1st intake: 24 Jan – 18 Apr 2011
2nd intake: 9 May – 1 Aug 2011
3rd intake: 5 Sep – 28 Nov 2011


Intakes for: January, May, September

Launched in 1971, the Institute has trained several thousand students including many who have become prominent PR practitioners in Singapore today. This is an intensive 21-session course covering around 3 months that is conducted three times a year.


The programme comprises two-and-a-half-hour lectures, case studies and a final examination. Classes are conducted twice a week from 7.00pm to 9.30pm, on Mondays and Thursdays.

Participants should possess at least four 'O' level passes including a credit in English. Those in the public relations profession will be given preference. Mature students and applicants without the relevant qualification may be considered on a case by case basis.



Participants are required to do assignment and a group presentation to gauge their overall performance in the course. Each will carry a 10 to 20 percent weightage, making a total of 30 percent. The final assessment accounts for 70 percent of the total grade.



Participants who have successfully completed the examination, tests and assignments shall be awarded the IPRS Certificate in Public Relations and Mass Communication.

 1. Application fee - $20
 2. Registration fee - $380

Please note that the registration fee is to secure a placement in the applied course and upon confirmation it will be deducted against course fees.

eg. Every application form submitted must be accompanied with $20 application fee and $380 registration fee, total $400. Once course is confirmed, registration fee will be deducted from course fees. Thus before the first class, balance of $2020 (based on Non-Members fee) must be paid to IPRS.

Course fee includes an IPRS Affiliate Membership, one required textbook and course materials. Company-sponsored students are required to pay the full amount in advance. Other instalment plans are available to self-sponsored students.
